In front of the media and special guests, ConvergenciaShow.MX, the only expo-convention in the country, was presented to the south of Mexico City: Pay TV, Networks, nPlay, OTT, Satellite, Convergence and Telecommunications, organized by the American Exhibition Consortium. The event will take place from July 19th to 21st, 2016 at the World Trade Center of this city, and will have a Market Floor of more than 3500m2, where companies will exhibit their products and services.
With the slogan ‘Rethink to Reinvent‘, the presentation led by Bethsabé Solis, General Coordinator of the show, Salomón Padilla, ATIM VP and sponsor, and Rafael Val, Commercial Chief for the exhibition. Together they highlighted that the event aims to be the annual meeting point of the entire Mexican industry of operators and licensees of Pay TV, Telecommunications, DTH, Regulators, Content Providers, Programming and Technology without distinction of size.
“Through ConvergenciaShow.Mx we want to integrate large operators, as well as medium and small ones, seeking to generate solutions to the needs of the industry. On the subject of regulations, the Federation of Telecommunications Associations of Mesoamerica (FATEM), which includes countries such as El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras; in addition to Panama and the Dominican Republic as possible attendees. All the presidents of the associations, with their regulators, will be present at the meeting. The objective of the discussion between regulators and operators is to reach a balance point that is a win, win. If we establish a space for dialogue between the three parties where we can advance in the needs that we need to solve, we will be on the right track,” said Salomon Padilla, ATIM VP and sponsor of the event.
Rafael Val, Chief Editor of Newsline Report, the magazine in charge of marketing the event, said: “The idea was born from an integrative event to seek solutions to the challenges facing the industry. As a result of this proposal, sponsors and exhibitors joined the event, which forced us to almost double the exhibition floor. We had the support of most of the leading companies in the market. We will also have the presence of the four main satellite operators, as well as major technology brands. At the same time, we are handling new different parameters in the topic of conventions, since ConvergenciaShow.Mx will be the first in the region to broadcast live all the conferences on the Internet.
Bethsabé Solís highlighted that: “In just a few months, ConvergenciaShow.Mx has transformed from a local event to a pan-regional one, with the presence of great representatives from Latin America”.
The event is made up of three thematic days, Tuesday 19: Business; Wednesday 20: Technology; and Thursday 21: Regulation. Based on this, the different training workshops, conferences and Round Tables with regulators will be held, where the main industry executives will give their vision on the challenges that the industry has ahead of it in the face of new technologies.
